Dye day snippets

So,  my color turned out really pretty--very indigo-like, just a little splotchy.  And the skeins are different looking.  But, I'm happy.  It really is so much fun...  I want to do it all the time, although I know have enough wool for projects to last a couple years.  I mean, starting an adult tomten?!  We shall see.

The pj challenge

So, no kimono top, as it took me a couple months to get these simple pants made, but I have to admit that they are pretty cute.  As usual, Amos's pants don't stay up, although he doesn't seem that skinny.... who knows?  And, is it okay for babies to be dressed in a silly way?  I think so.  Jess doesn't mind, and Damien doesn't seem too, either.

These are the pj pants and Ruby bloomers from Heather Ross's weekend sewing.  (Thanks, Sara.)
The fabric is by Kokka Japanese.  Lego :)

Okay, now I really have to sew that skirt.

The painting of my son that my brother owns...

Online communities...

I posted on Soule Mama's "this moment" a link to my blog, after Kirstin piqued my interest in experimenting with getting hits.  And I got 56 hits that day, and I was 98th in the comments or something like that.  Crazy the power a mamablogger can have.  Wierd.  And someone from Portland looked at it.  And, perhaps I'm being stuck up, but have you viewed SouleMama today?

Whether or not I have inspired her (I can safely say that she inspires me), I was talking to a close Michigander girlfriend last night and she was saying how much she loved my photos and blog... that feels nice.  I guess I know I have a lot of lurkers on my blog.

So, the gist of what I'm going to say is, I lurk on y'alls blogs a lot and am very inspired by y'alls capabilities.  And I'm thankful to have the computer for connecting with people, whatever anyone may say about technology and disconnection...

when we were young

so, in search of an awkward family photo (which I KNOW there are plenty of...) I came across this pic of the kiddos when they were your kiddos ages... 4 and 2
I also realized (once again) the power in the art of taking photographs. The complete and utter joy in "re-seeing" moments from the past. Thank you camera!
